YOU CAN LEARN TO DO STAINED GLASS IN FIVE (5) CONSECUTIVE WEEKLY CLASSES

MONDAY NIGHT FROM 6:30-9:00PM

In this class, students will learn:

  • GLASS CUTTING TECHNIQUES
  • TOOL USAGE
  • SOLDERING
  • BASIC LEAD CAME
  • COPPER FOIL METHODS

The student will complete three projects: 

  • SMALL LEAD CAME SUNCATCHER (ENGLISH METHOD)
  • SMALL LEAD CAME ABSTRACT PANEL (CARTOON METHOD)
  • LARGE COPPER FOIL WINDOW PANEL

The cost of the first project is included in the class fee, as well as the instruction costs.  The following additional costs will be incurred by the student:

  • Tool Kits & Chemicals must be purchased for the second project.
    • BASIC TOOL KIT $140.00 OR DELUXE TOOL KIT $195.00
    • CHEMICAL BAG $20.00
  • The second project requires a purchase of glass and materials in the amount of approximately $10.00. 
  • The average cost of the final project is $30-$55.

Class fees are non refundable. You must wear eye protection, long pants and closed toe shoes. You must provide your own eye protection or purchase it for $6.  Class size is limited to 12. AGES 15+

INSTRUCTOR: ANGELA BEUCLER

In this class, you will become familiarized with the fundamentals of beginning glass fusing.  The instructor will assist you in the creation of small works of fused glass art.  Each student will make one pair of earrings and a pendant, or three other miscellaneous items such as a small tile, fan pull, key fob or magnet.STUDENTS WILL RECEIVE DISCOUNT ON FUSIBLE GLASS AND A 10% DISCOUNT ON A KILN THE DAY OF CLASS!  You must wear eye protection, long pants and closed toe shoes.  You must provide your own eye protection or purchase it for $6.

INSTRUCTOR: ANGELA BEUCLER
Pre-requisite: Glass Fusing I

In this 3 hour workshop students will have the opportunity to fine tune your jewelry design skills.  

 Students will learn:

  • Fire polishing techniques.
  • Metal embellishment techniques.
  • How to design and create a 1” x 1” tile to experience etching techniques on dichroic glass on the fourth piece.
  • Instructions on how to use a band saw and/or other various grinder bits to prep a second piece for wire wrapping.  Basic wire wrapping techniques will be taught.

All materials included in the cost of the class. You must wear eye protection, long pants and closed toe shoes. You must provide your own eye protection or purchase it for $6.

INSTRUCTOR: JUDY CUENO

YOU WILL NEVER LOOK AT A SHARD OF GLASS, A FRAGMENT OF STONE OR A MISPLACED TILE IN THE SAME WAY AGAIN!  GET READY TO BE INSPIRED!  You can make a 14 inch round mosaic tabletop using the direct method on an acrylic base. THE CLASS FEE INCLUDES: GLASS, GLUE, GROUT & ROUND ACRYLIC BASE.  A wrought iron table base and glass mosaic cutters will be available for purchase at a discount.  Please dress appropriately for mixing grout.  You must wear eye protection, long pants and closed toe shoes.  You must provide your own eye protection or purchase it for $6.

Ready to express your design ideas in glass?  During this class, you’ll learn how to design a piece that will be structurally sound, get new ideas for picking colors and laying out textures and have a chance to work on a design of your own.  All materials included in the cost of the class. STUDENTS WILL BE GIVEN A SAME DAY DISCOUNT ON ANY PURCHASES RELATING TO THIS CLASS. Ages 18+.

INSTRUCTOR: ROBERT P. MARSHAL
PREREQUISITE: BEGINNING STAINED GLASS

Ever want to learn how to lead a window?  The lead came technique works great for prairie styles and traditional old Victorian styles. Students will bring in a window ready to be leaded (previously cut up by the student) of the student's choice.  Students will learn lead came techniques and tricks, as well as the process of cementing, whiting and puttying.  2 lengths of lead and lunch will be provided with class fee. Students may purchase additional lead at a 10% discount.  Ages 18+   Class limit 12.  You must wear eye protection, long pants and closed toe shoes.

Nervous about a difficult project?  Want to learn to make a lamp?  Every Wednesday night, Stained Glass Emporium holds continuing education independent study stained glass classes.  Any student who has taken a beginning stained glass course here or elsewhere is welcome to sign up.  Bring your next project, glass and tools and get ready to learn and make new friends!     Sign up and prepay in advance.
